Session day prep
I suggest that babies feed right before their session. A newborn session usually takes 2 hours. I ask that you come 30 minutes prior to your session time to feed your baby in my home studio. Babies generally feed every 2-3 hours, therefore; feeding right before a session can SOMETIMES guarantee an uninterrupted session. With that being said, babies are babies and quite often will have growth spurts and feed more often during a photography session. In the event that your baby is fully fed, but still may seem hungry during the session I will take a break and allow them private feeding time. I suggest you give your baby their normal early morning feeding which is usually around 3 hours before your session and you are more than welcome to let baby go back to sleep. You do not need to keep your baby awake. When you arrive I will undress your baby to the diaper, allow you to feed, then I will wrap baby to help drift them to sleep.
I also suggest that you try not introduce anything new 24-48 hours before the session. If you are introducing a new formula it is best to wait a full day to make sure there are no reactions to the formula before the session.
Always consult with your Pediatrician with any changes before your session.
Moms, you are welcome to pump during the sessions if you need relief.
